2019 Review

We had a rather large 2019 with plenty of interesting projects that kept us on our toes. Here’s a quick look back at some of our project highlights.

Haynes Group: ‘In the Know’ Life Saving Commitments Key Risks Posters and Videos

Our partnership with Haynes Group has entered it’s fourth year and we continue to adapt as the brand grows and evolve. In January 2019 we worked with the HSQE Team to create a series of ‘In The Know’ Life Saving Commitments Key Risks Icons for each of the seven business units. The deliverables included 14 safety icons and posters for workshop and lunchrooms. More recently in the third quarter, we produced a series of videos outlining the Key Risks for safety education and new employee induction sessions.

Puzzling Puzzles: Brand Development and Packaging Design

On a different note, our friends at Accumul8 Accounting referred a new client to us through our BNI Sunrise Chapter. The new owner of a wholesale toy and puzzle distributor required a new catalogue for trade exhibitions and sales meetings. Before starting production we discussed updating their existing branding with a more contemporary brand image. This was approved, developed and applied to not just the new catalogue but to program print ads, exhibition banners and packaging.

Big Hearted Business: Clare Bowditch ‘Women’ and 'If I Could Give You' Single Artwork

We’ve been working with Big Hearted Business for a number of years, producing event collateral for the ‘Tea with Clare and Jam’ series. We recently created a series of single covers for Clare Bowditch’s new release along with Harry Angus James.

Sirrom Corporation: Website, Microsites and Capability Statement

The previous owners of Morris Corporation recently established Sirrom Corporation after selling Morris to French facilities management giant Sodexo. We were contacted to assist with the design and development of a new corporate website focusing on (Morris’) international projects and case studies. The Ageing Sea designed and developed the new website along with producing copy (writing) together with existing and stock photography our creative director photographed in 2009-14. Once the initial corporate website was completed we rolled out the template across three mircosites for Collinsville Workforce Accommodation, Moranbah Accommodation Centre and Glenden Motel. With the digital footprint in place we summarised Sirrom’s offerings and project case studies into a 16 page Capability Statement and developed promotional banners.

PJL Projects: Website Design and Copywriting

PJL Projects needed to refresh their out of date website. They contacted us to update, rebuild and create content for their Squarespace site. We interviewed their director and found out what made PJL Projects tick and produced copy for their hero projects. Check out the updated Squarespace website here.

Blackwood Collective: Website Design and Print Creative

Blackwood Collective also required an update to their current website. They wanted to add fresh new photography and integrate an ecommerce component on certain products. We edited their existing Wix website to include multiple segments such as residential, commercial and custom furniture. We also produced copy and developed a press ad for interiors magazine, “The Local Project.”

Sodexo Australia: Tender Creative and Production

French international facilities management giant Sodexo engaged our creative director to work on-site assisting with creative and production for a large tender application. We assisted with the development of village branding, an executive summary and a 70 page hard cover solutions book housed in a magnetically closing box delivered to the clients West Australian head office. Unfortunately we can’t show you the work as we signed a non-disclosure agreement.

The Alfresco Room: Shopify Website and Photography

In early July our friends at The Alfresco Room asked us to create a Shopify website for their flagship store in Noosaville. After an initial planning workshop we got straight into it. We secured a theme suitable for their brand, migrated their inventory software Vend, and built a menu for their extensive product catalogue. We also connected ecommerce accounts on Facebook and Instagram to their new website, while also photographing and retouching over 60+ products. Browse their new site here.

Palmwoods Early Learning Centre: Brand Development, Website, Radio, Video and Marketing Collateral

Palmwoods Early Learning Centre briefed The Ageing Sea to create a fun, colourful and energetic brand for their state-of-the-art facility nestled in the leafy Sunshine Coast hinterland. Once the brand identity was approved we developed a brand style guide and produced numerous assets for launch. These included Parents Handbook, Website Design, Introduction Video, Produce 4x Radio Ads, Press and Digital Advertising, Stationery and Direct Mailers to name a few.

Haynes Group: Labour Hire & Recruitment Campaign (TV, Radio, Digital Billboard)

Haynes Group wanted an advertising campaign that spoke directly to local diesel fitters in their language. The Ageing Sea created two Aussie characters on smoko chatting about a mate who had moved onto a better job. The Ageing Sea directed and produced a 30 second television ad for WIN Network, 30 second radio ad and a 15 second animated billboard for Mackay Airport.

SMEC: TOD Rail Video Production

SMEC (Surbana Jurong) is a large international organisation with an internal team. But sometimes even large internal production teams get inundated with deadlines and deliverables and need a little help. The Ageing Sea came to the rescue and assisted SMEC’s marketing team with the final editing and producing voice over and sound for a rail project video to be used for upcoming rail tender presentations.

Soundtrails: Brand Development, App and Marketing Collateral Design

The Story Project team were looking to refresh the Soundtrails Brand and App. Our team developed a fresh new brand which articulated the products functionality and purpose. We then documented our creations in a style guide and have now started translating the brand into the new app screens ready for launch in late 2020.

Solid Ground Coffee Roasters: Brand Development and Packaging Design

Our friends from Mint and Evolution Fuel briefed The Ageing Sea to help them create a coffee brand that captured their continued commitment to giving back to their local community. Solid Ground ‘Feel Good Coffee’ tagline and wordmark was born and married with a stylish illustrations from a local artist. Once approved we documented all brand assets in a style guide and started developing designs for takeaway cups and bags for coffee beans which should hit the shelves early 2020. View the work in progress here.
